We must forgive him the paranoia, the empire-building overdogness, the closed operating systems of the past few years: Steve Jobs, seen here in the late 1970s on his BMW R60/2, was instrumental in changing how we communicate, how we look at the world, what we can find at our fingertips. The ease with which we use his exquisite products, these icons of modern design, is down to his personal insistence on pushing boundaries, demanding the technically and physically impossible, and settling on the merely revolutionary.
Rest in peace.
